Scholastic Art and Writing Awards Since 1923, the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards have recognized some of America's most celebrated artists and writers while they were teenagers, including: Tschabalala Self, Stephen King, Kay WalkingStick, Charles White, Joyce Carol Oates, and Andy Warhol. NYCRegional Gold-Key works are displayed (and Silver-Key works screened) at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Over 300, 000 entries will have been evaluated by the national level. Travel Photographer of the Year (TPOTY) Travel Photographer of the Year is an international travel photography award, founded by professional photographer Chris Coe and his partner Karen Coe in 2003. The competition runs annually and is open to entries from photographers of all ages and abilities. Each year an overall winner is presented with the 'Travel Photographer of The Year' award, with additional winners selected from each of the year's categories. The competition is judged by an international panel of expert photographers and editors, assessing as many as 20,000 entries from over 142 different countries each year. The Covid Lockdown Project (2021) The Covid Lockdown Project was an open photography competition organized by my school. Its purpose was to recognize the devastating effects of COVID-19, posing this question to contestants: How has Covid-19, social distancing, quarantine, or lockdown impacted on your life? The three categories were 'The Space Between Us' (single image), 'Weird is Wonderful' (single image), and 'The Covid-19 Diaries' (up to 5 images). For more information on the competition, click here
The Gloucestershire Young Photographer of the Year (2022) The Gloucestershire Young Photographer of the Year Competition is an open photography competition organized by the Cheltenham Camera Club. It involves entering one image on any subject and selected entries are displayed in a prestigious showcase at Chapel Arts, Cheltenham. Winners are invited to the Awards Ceremony in the presence of the Mayor of Cheltenham. For more information on the competition, click here
