A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME
My interest in photography started when I was in first grade on a family trip to Jerusalem. I took a picture of my parents that elicited a very positive response from my mother, who then framed the photograph in our home. Although this was probably just the classic parental praise for small children, my six year old self was inspired to pursue this hobby further. Thanks to the multitude of opportunities I have here in NYC, from pressing a simple button, I began to develop a better understanding of how photography works, learning about shutter speed, f-stops, and getting to experiment with both film and digital.
Photography also brings out my meticulousness. A fun fact about me is that I have many medical issues and have undergone multiple surgeries, which I think has made me a person who really pays attention to detail! I was born with microtia and atresia, which means that I do not have an inner or outer ear, and the doctors who helped me have also worked tirelessly in association with myFace, an organization that helps provide care and support for craniofacial patients and their families around the world. Knowing what it is like to fail a spelling test because I could not hear, to have peers ask where my ear went or why it looks different, or even to have to explain over and over to quizzical nurses about why I can't have my temperature taken from the left ear, myFace's mission is one dear to my heart. I want others like me to have access to the treatment they need, so 100% of the proceeds from every photograph I sell will go to raising funds for myFace. Please let me know in the form below if you are interested in or have any questions about any of the photos!
And most of all, thank you so much for visiting my site!!! I hope you enjoyed your time here!

WHEN DID YOU START TAKING UP PHOTOGRAPHY?
I started taking photos because of my mom. Whenever we traveled she would always take a lot of photos of my brother and me along with many photos of the architecture and culture of wherever we went. Eventually, I developed an interest in photography, especially of places around the world - I love to travel!
What types of things do you like to take photos of?
Although I do take a lot of generic photos, I try to take photos of things that are unusual. There is no point taking a photo of a well-known building or place the way everyone else takes those photos. You have to look for something that you truly want to capture, whether it's the way someone is smiling, a building from a specific angle, or even something simple if it makes you feel something magical inside.
What things do you look for in a good photo?
A good photo should be beautiful and interesting. Yes, you can look at the proportions and the framing and the lighting etc., but I think the most important part of a great photo is that it not only catches your eye but sparks a deeper emotion within you as well.
What does photography mean to you?
For me, photography is really about seeing and feeling, as it is with almost all other forms of art, and I marvel every day at how our eyes and cameras work, a miracle that allows us to connect with the world in so many ways. This hobby has given me the chance to express my ideas in a form different from language and has made me a more detailed person.
